Hamming Codes Checksum

Hello!

I'm having a problem with the decoder and am wondering what the checksum is for the value: 001100011, the third given in the example. My checksum is 11 when converted to base 10, which is larger than the length of the string + 1.

The answer for that example is 10101, so the checksum has to be 6
