Hi guys!

My name is Nastia, I am russian living in the US for the moment. My major and my area of expertise have nothing to do with the computer science - I am organic/medicinal chemist. Hanging out just for fun:) trying to do things that I could not do when I was a student. But I am totally a noob. Just following the instructions on the front page - I do horse riding, hikes, board games and sleep. Glad to see you all here :)

Hi! Thanks for introducing yourself! :)

Even more glad that I was recently asked by some girl whether there are at all women at this site... She is under the power of some popular prejudice, I believe.

Very curious field! But I think computers are used heavily in it - ain't they? One of my classmates got her PhD for research of computer modelling of some reactions with some stuff called acetylcholinesterase (I can only vaguely guess that is something like enzyme etc).

Ha-ha :) You do unexpectedly well for a "total noob" - have you attained some online courses or optional classes at university? If it is not a secret, of course!

yes they try to do that - only in my opinion at this moment modelling does not have very much of a predicting power. Hopefully this will change soon, it would be extremely useful.

All I've done is codecademy and interactive python on Coursera - this one was very good, exactly what any class should be.
