I would never ever dare to approach (online or in person) someone far more knowledgeable than myself and say something along the lines of
- hey, I don't get your solution, explain it to me
(just saying)
Though maybe Rodion would be interested in adding an option for the top members of the community to add their notes / hints / feelings / deep fears (kidding) on the problems that they've just solved (these notes, of course, would be visible only to those who have solved the said problems themselves)
(sorry if it sounds weird)
Also I would like to use this thread to thank:
(1) Rodion for all his time & efforts put into creating and maintaining the site and adding new problems (and even languages).
(2) all the other members who have been proposing new problems — I'm looking forward to solving all of them :)

(in somewhat reverse order, ha-ha)
- About problem on Markdown - well, hm, why... though sounds a bit ridiculuos it may make sense especially since :) though perhaps we just need to give up and add some wysiwyg formatting tool...
- Metoo feeling deep gratitude to our colleagues bringing new porblems especially since "different people bring different problems" I'd say... this makes far better diversity and brings us to somewhat next level :)
- oh, thanks for your kind words - but as you easily guess, this, hm, hobby-thing brings at least equal pleasure (and useful experience, learning) to me also!

This sounds quite reasonable - we only may want to decide how exactly it should look like. Sounds really like a dedicated forum topic linked visibly to the task itself (and "private" to this task)... If so, we just need to create some special links to such related topics... in problem statement or in the problem list... Or you think of something more innovative?

That's peculiar :) I never feel so, hm, shy? though I have other problem: often I don't get idea even when I'm explained! I remember few years ago interview in BioCad where they suggested a task about best matching of two 2D shapes (e.g. like molecules clinging to each other) - and after my ideas told - they started explaining this could be done better by somehow employing fast multiplication based on discrete fourier transform... I laughed and said it's bit too much to my brain :)

* I'm sorry my initial post was a bit convoluted. Guess I should rather abstain from posting on forums when I'm tired && angry at coworkers, ha-ha.
* I actually enjoy the Markdown as I'm quite old(-fashioned) and conservative and nowadays the whole world has become much too wysiwyg for my liking. :(
* As for the adding-the-notes thingy I think I meant something slightly different so I'd rather collect my thoughts and drop you an email (if that's OK with you).

Actually it's not about me being shy. You seem to be a very modest person, never trying to show off or come off as better and smarter than you are. I admire that, but alas, I'm very much not like this.
