There is main page Volumes that sorts problems.

But volumes property was removed from any task page and replaced by set of tags.

From task page http://www.codeabbey.com/index/task_view/cloud-altitude-measurement i can travel to http://www.codeabbey.com/index/task_list/geometry, but task also belongs to Volume http://www.codeabbey.com/index/task_list/geometry-basics. I can't find links to volume pages.

Yes, you are right, I'm currently in progress of gradually substituting volumes with tags.

This was proposed at this topic some time ago.

I myself was not happy with "volumes" because they adding task to this or that often seemed unnatural. At the same time they have such a big names, some description (which I believe no one read)... For example two previous "music-related" problems were placed into "physics and modelling" volume which does not make much sense. At the same time creating dedicated volume "Music" for two simple problems does not look like great idea... :(

Did you found volumes useful?

Currently the idea is like this:

  • 12 volumes are substituted with at least few dozens of tags (I hope by and by they will describe problems better);
  • separation to volumes still exists (to preserve old links);
  • by default problems are shown with one long list, with unsolved ones going first (but then sorted by "blessing");
  • problems could be filtered by tag in the same manner as by volumes;
  • there link to page with all tags is above the problem list.

I hope to add more features soon - including assigning tags by top-rated users, which should help make tags more relevant comparing to volumes.

Too bad for me if you remove the volumes because I really enjoy solving the task by volume : 1°) that's make up to 12 directories in my HDD where I store the codes, 2°) it's like reading a long novel in twelve books

I did not dare to remove them completely :)

Then probably I need to groom them somehow in future to avoid mentioning the same task in more than one volume... And probably adding more volumes also.

Thanks for your opinion! It is important for me to find out how to organize this stuff better...
