Sort-by drop-down broken after signing in

The drop-down menu that allows sorting problems by some criterion fails to work after navigating to the home page, then signing in with Google. Selecting a sort criterion on the problem list page appears to attempt to update the URL query string, but it does so after the hash character ("#"), so the page fails to reload with the new criterion; instead, it fails to jump to an anchor id that does not exist. Manually editing the URL to remove the hash character and then reloading solves the problem.

I believe the root source of the problem is that logging in with Google (and perhaps other modes of authentication) leaves a hash character in the URL of the problem list page that the sort-by logic doesn't expect to be there.
