Changing the username in URL

When I signed up with my GitHub, my name was set to my full name. I prefer my username so I changed my name in the settings. Unfortunately, my full name remains in the URL for my user profile and I was wondering if there are provisions to change this.

Hi!

I'm afraid you are right and currently here is no functionality to change URL's - the main idea behind this is to prevent making old links to user page (if any exist) becoming invalid.

So your question somewhat puzzled me about whether we should invent some workaround (e.g. allowing changing urls but also providing redirect from old urls to new) or make urls random-generated on registration...
