I think there's a typo in the problem statement.
It says the lock is from A-J, but the example (and the solution) use a lock that goes from A-L.
Oh yes, you are right! Thanks for reporting this!
It seems that initially (long time ago) the problem used only 10 letters but it appeared to be necessary to increase their amount to get rid of "lazy" solutions :)
